i fully agree with the contents of the book and if there is anything thats not agreeable to mahathir then please sue the author.but he woudn't dare.where has the money from my beloved country gone to? how did his son become a billionaire.our economy and the standard of living could be comparable to the united ststes of america, but with the pilgerage of the country wealth the raakyat has to pay for their sins.

He did not just squander the RM100.00 billion. He also destroyed the country by implementing discriminative policy across all spectrum of our society namely, public institution, civil service, police, ACA, judicial, enforcement agencies. Those damages will take years & more them RM100 billion to repair. Bapa Malaysia?.

Oh, Mr. Wain, could you please add another book in your list. Name it: A liar in the Century and a man who calls himself "Fair" in the Malaysiakini's blog.

Malaysia is blessed with a variety of natural resources and cultivable lands which could quite effortlessly transform into wealth. These luxuries had been taken for granted and not treasured as scarce commodities so much so prudence has always thrown to the wind. While in power. Mahathir led the way and followed by others not only unhesitatingly squandered away these endowed revenue but, along the way, blatantly plundered the nation's coffer and unabashedly enriched themselves and their cronies. In order to stay in power and continue achieving such objectives, these blokes conveniently and unscrupulously destroyed all guards that stood in their way and dismantled all checks and balances that hitherto were in place.

AMCK Get your facts right. Blaming him for the 1969 affair is stupid and irresponsible. Blame all you want, but do so with things that are relevant. You all are ready to believe anything, including that this book is going to discredit Mahatir. Wait till it comes out, you will be surprised. Of course you all will then call Barry an UMNO stooge.

A thief of the Century is finally caught with the pant down. It is my hope that this book will one day become compulsory reading materials in the mainstream education. P/s Mr. Wain- How about writing another book re: A Racist of the Century and a man who single handedly started the fire of May 13, 1969

And they claim that Anwar is an US agent, turncoat and a traitor to his race! I hope that the Malays will say enough is enough and take on the mantle of leadership and lead this country to greater heights. Malaysia needs capable Malay leaders who are brave enough to change the mindset and make the Malays believe that they can be world beaters with confidence, self believe and will power.

The quality of a historical account on someone improves with the passage of time. Therefore, Malaysia should have more books written on Mahathir so that a more balanced account may surface years later. The case in point is the huge number of biography written about Mao after Mao's death. Generally Mao was deemed great only for era before 1959. He was, and still is regarded as a tyrant by the Communist Party of China. After suffering so much under Mao, Deng Xiaoping decreed upon his return from political wilderness that for its own good, China should de- emphasize the role-play of its leaders in governance. Strong leaders only bring calamities to a country, Deng argued. Only out of fear of national disintegration that China keeps Mao’s picture hanging in Tiananmen Square. Not for any other reason.

Barry Wain was one of the people who led the commentary by virtue of appearance on the docu. Mahatir. Be sure that far from banning this book, the Malaysian Government will encourage the sales of the Book. As for Mahatir, he never denied anything, and would welcome Barry's book. It will detail all the corruption and the 100 B that is gone, and be sure it is not under the bed of Mahatir's bed in his humble home. He will let you in and show you, he lives without walls nor plenty of bodyguards, as most of you think. He welcomes Barry's detailing of everything, and please be prepared for some surprises, very big surprises, as he is very candid and honest in all his views and has facts, as I believe that he got a lot of insight about Mahatir from the very man himself. TDMM is not a coward as most of you think, he welcomes critics and fears no one else but God, and he knows he is not far from meeting his creator, and subject to abuse of me and him, I will tell you he does not regret anything.

Please don't forget, besides financial losses, Malaysia also suffers from opportunity lost and untold human suffering due to his unjust policies and blocking the progress of no-bumis.

We just found one more use for the CIQ complex in JB. To search and destroy all copies of "Malaysian Maverick" being brought in to Malaysia. Good luck to customs.

'Bapa corrupsi', this is an ideal title. Only this much, surely someone has to dig up for more. Not only him but the whole lot of leaders under him and after him. The country been corrupted by UMNO and I don't understand how the people is still accepting this govt. Are they thick or because enjoying the benefit of ill gotten wealth. Will Mahathir sue the writer? I bet he will not because its the truth. How about Samy? How much is share? God safe Malaysia.

If there's one person that Mahathir hates, it's Barry Wain. He never ceased to complain about Wain to anybody he came across. It's a wonder that Wain took so long to bring out his book on Mahathir. If the book is as good as it comes across, Wain should be given the Pulitzer Prize for Journalism. Worth buying the book because Wain has observed Mahathir at close hand for many years.

Well I am not at all surpirsed. I was actually wondering when Someone would collate and collect and produce information of how much has been Squandered for this Beautiful Country of Ours and from us Tax Payers. So 40 Billion USD at that time, My Goodness, can you Imagine what could have been done to uplift the living standards of our People, help raise the Per Captia income and mostly at the powerty, low and middle income Malaysia, Imrprove significantly the Integrated Tranport Systems accross the Major Cities, affordable Medical Care etc ctc. It is Such a Crime !!!. I am sure that is the book extends to Former PM Badawi and now PM Najib's ERA, the RM 100 Billion would have definetly risen. Can Someone out there give a qualified anser on this ? When will all this Stop ? I do pray often that it Stops but even Peaceful Candlelight Vigils are Banned !!

The Tengku was rightly referred to as 'Bapak Malaysia" a title Mahahtir was so jealous about he did not accord the Tengku the respect he deserved even at his (the Tengku's) death. Well Mahathir Mohammed time beckons, you can't go on living forever, and I hope you are reading this, I may go before you but I will have n title bestowed on me, however it will be different in your case. You shall be known as "Bapak Apartheid dan fascists Malaysia' and I hope you feel honoured by this salutation, because I think and I know am and actually convinced that no one in Malaysia, either from the past the present or the future deserves this except you.

The amounts being bandied about are quite possible when taking into account the BMF scandal, PKFZ scandal (that was approved by his cabinet), Perwaja Steel scandal, bail out of MISC, MAS, Proton and many more plus all the corruption and kickbacks from every construction deal signed with the government, and not to forget the annual Auditor General's Report on exorbitant expenditure. But Tun you have an easy way out, just blame Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was the Finance Minister. That is Tun's favorite past time after all.

This book have proofed how his son become one in the list of the billionaires. Now we know.

Why 100 billion? Make it one trillion and surely it will look more thrilling. Just dig whatever facts from any garbage you can find!

I am now wondering whether the Gomen will ban this book ! If not, it will surely be worthwhile to get a copy just to confirm our suspicions all along ! So now, the cat is finally out of the bag ! Pray, run & hide ! But it won't do you any good MM ! Now the whole world will get a chance to know you for who you really are ! Of course, knowing your cynical self, you will chose to deny all these in your usual sarcastic manner ! (for starters , by calling them unfounded and baseless & unproven allegations !) ...Or better yet, why not claim amnesia i.e. that you cannot remember again ! That is becoming so cliche these days, especially when coming from you ! ..Merdeka ! Long Live Malaysia !

When the rakyat been blessed with 'mudah lupa syndrome', on the grand scale of things, rm100billion might just be the icing of the cake. Lets 'lupa' and move on!!

Love to get my hands on this book. Nevertheless, financial cost is only one part of the damage that Mahathir inflicted onto M'sia. We can never count the losses suffered as a result of his attacks and the eventual rape of our Judiciary, the use of ISA, and the weakening of our Anti-corruption Agency and the police force.

I actually was a bit a puzzled as well. Despite the nationalistic sentiments whipped up against the US, I noticed that the US Military were still regular visitors to many Msia armed forces facilities during my younger days. If you see in some countries that did this, US will immediately downgrade their ties and reduce whatever aid they have given to those countries where-else, the situation with them then was 'semuanya ok' style. Now we know.
